Haunting photos from the dawn of photography show a very different way of honouring the dead in the 19th century A series of chilling photographs have revealed the macabre practice used by the Victorians to remember their dead loved ones. One photograph shows a mother with her lifeless daughter leaning on her shoulder, another shows a family mourning their dog and another shows a man sat on an armchair with his hand positioned to support his head and make him appear alive.
